Šķēle strikes again, BM Stal Ostrow complete the Final Four lineup


Aigars Šķēle averaged 15.5 assists in the quarterfinal against Zastal Zielona Gora to lead BM Stal Ostrow to a 101-80 win on Tuesday, March 21, at the Arena Ostrow. Andrzej Urban`s team won the series 195-177 and booked a last ticket to the Final Four.



Players of the game

Aigars Šķēle run the point extremely well.


Stal`s Latvian guard scored 17 points and dished out 12 assists, including seven dimes in the second half.


Šķēle scored or assisted on more than 40 points.


He accumulated 31 assists in two games against Zastal Zielona Gora.


Jakub Garbacz scored 11 of his 16 points in the second half.

Shooting guard added firepower from the deep to counter Bryce Alford.

Ojārs Siliņš was super efficient in the first half and finished the game with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field.


Power forward claimed defensive MVP title, as he registered three steals and three blocked shots.

Bryce Alford led Zastal Zielona Gora with 26 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field, including a 7-of-13 effort from the three point line.

He tied the ENBL record in three pointers made (Jānis Kaufmanis, Richard Balint).


Sebastian Kowalczyk scored 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the deep.


Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz had 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.


Key stats

BM Stal Ostrow led by as much as 14 points in the first half, but Oliver Vidin`s team cut the gap to a single point, 50-49.


The hosts outscored Zastal 51-31 the rest of the way.


Both teams reached 40 percent mark in three pointers made.


BM Stal Ostrow went 12-of-30, while Zastal Zielona Gora connected 15-of-34 three point field goal attempts.

The ball movement proved decisive as Stal registered 27 assists on 36 field goals.


Zastal had 13 assists on 27 field goals.


Game notes

BM Stal Ostrow extended head coach Andrzej Urban for two more years until summer of 2025.

Urban`s men next day reached the century mark and the 2023 ENBL Final Four.


BM Stal Ostrow will face Polski Cukier Start Lublin in semifinal.
