Trefl Sopot win Polish Cup for the third time, Garrett Nevels is MVP


Trefl Sopot defeated Start Lublin, 91-80, to lift the Suzuki Puchar Polski on Sunday, February 19, at the Hala Globus in Lublin.



Trefl survive two overtime battle against Anwil

Žan Tabak`s team prevailed over Slask Wroclaw in the quarterfinal, 79-70, to secure a semifinal match-up against the 2022 ENBL champion Anwil Wloclawek.


Trefl Sopot edged out The Rottweilers in a two overtime battle on Saturday, 93-91 (66-66, 78-78).


Garrett Nevels scored 30 points for the winners and Rolands Freimanis dropped 18 points.


Polski Cukier Start Lublin scored 109 points in a semifinal win against Spojnia Stargard, 109-86.


Cleveland Melvin led the charge with 24 points, while Troy Barnies and Gabe DeVoe added 20 points each.


Three to see

Three men stepped up for Trefl Sopot in the final.


Garrett Nevels had another huge game and impressive stat line – 27 points, seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and two blocked shots.

Jaroslaw Zyskowski had 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, including a 9-of-10 effort inside the three point line.


Cameron Wells scored 11 points and dished out nine assists.


Gabe DeVoe and Scoochie Smith answered with 15 points each.



One, two, three!

Trefl Sopot won the Polish Cup after a ten year break.


The Puzzle posted previous victories in 2012 and 2013.


Start Lublin lost in the Cup final for the third time (1978, 2022, 2023).


Anwil won the Polish Cup in 1995, 1996, 2007 and 2020.


Zastal Zielona Gora prevailed in 2021.


Stal Ostrow triumphed in 2019 and 2022.


Rolands Freimanis earned his third Cup win.


He lifted the trophy with Anwil, Zastal and now Trefl.
