Newcastle Eagles use smart rotations, win at Dziki Warszawa




Newcastle Eagles held Dziki Warszawa to 13 points in the fourth quarter to post a 79-70 road win on Tuesday, November 26, at the Hala Kolo in Polish capital.

The Eagles had only nine men on their gameday roster but smart rotations allowed them to employ their best players when it mattered.


Mike Okauru provided that much needed firepower late in the game and scored seven of his 18 points in the fourth quarter.


University of North Carolina at Wilmington star shot 1/6 from the three point line in his first three ENBL games.


Okauru went 4/7 from the deep at Dziki Warszawa.


Seneca Knight led the Eagles with 20 points on 9/15 shooting from the field.


Illinois State University standout added 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.


De`Sean Allen-Eikens also stepped up in the fourth quarter and dished a game high seven assists.


Rickey McGill led Dziki Warszawa with 21 points on 7/13 shooting from the field and a perfect 7/7 from the charity stripe.


A former Iona Gael had five rebounds and a team high six assists.


Nick McGlynn checked out with 20 points.


A former Drake center grabbed 11 rebounds.


Andre Wesson had 11 points.

Thanks to a big night by Mike Okauru, Newcastle Eagles shot 10/26 from the three point line.


Dziki Warszawa struggled from the deep, 2/23.


The hosts missed all eight three point field goal attempts in the fourth quarter.


Newcastle Eagles had only eight turnovers and no turnovers in the last 10 minutes.


Dziki Warszawa scored more points in the paint, 46-30.
