Mighty James Karnik guides Donar Groningen to the first win

James Karnik scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to guide Donar Gronigen to a 88-68 win over Spišski Rytieri, on Wednesday, November 27, at the Martini Plaza in the northern Netherlands.

James Karnik represented Czechia in the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.


The Czechs lost to the Netherlands, 70-77, at the Sportcampus Zuiderpark – three days after a 96-74 success on the home floor.


Karnik played 11 minutes on Thursday and less than six minutes on Sunday,


He unleashed his energy against Spišski Rytieri.


Karnik scored 27 points on 11/15 shooting from the field and a perfect 5/5 from the free throw line.


A former Boston College center also grabbed 17 rebounds – the fourth all time best result in the ENBL regular season and the fifth best result overall.


Zach Harvey joined the party with 15 points.


A former University of California at Santa Barbara player filled the stat sheet with two rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block.


Tim Hoeve checked out with 13 points and five rebounds.


Dwayne Cohill Jr led Spišski Rytieri with 21 points on 9/18 shooting from the field.


Youngstown State guard had six rebounds, three assists and one block.
