Magic Wednesday: three games in Aarhus, Bamberg and Warsaw




Three games are scheduled in Group B on Wednesday, October 2. Reigning champions Bakken Bears Aarhus will host Bristol Flyers. Four newcomers will step on the floor as Bamberg Baskets meet Dinamo Bucharest and Legia Warsaw face Fyllingen Lions.


Bakken Bears vs Bristol Flyers


Series history: Bakken Bears will face Bristol Flyers for the second time. Aarhus won the previous encounter on the road, 87-83.


Key matchup: Sylvester Berg averages 14.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the Basketligaen.


Danish National team forward recently scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds at Amager.


Demond Robinson graduated Kennesaw State University in 2024 and signed with Bristol Flyers.


Power forward scored 11 points in his SLB Trophy debut on September 27 at Leicester.


Robinson added three rebounds, three assists and one block.


National championships: the Bakken Bears are 2-1 in the BasketLigaen. The season started on September 19 with a 72-90 home loss against Horsens.


Anders Sommer and his men posted two away wins, 103-77 at Holbaek on September 25 and 80-73 at Amager on September 29.


The Bears have seven games in October, including three matches in the ENBL.


The Bristol Flyers started season on September 27 with a SuperLeague Basketball (SLB) Trophy game at the Leicester Riders and suffered a 69-91 loss.

Bamberg Baskets vs Dinamo Bucharest


Series history: Bamberg Baskets and Dinamo Bucharest will face each other for the first time in the ENBL.


Key matchup: ENBL finalist KeyShawn Feazell transferred from CSO Voluntari to Bamberg Baskets.


A former Creighton star has averaged 11.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two Bundesliga games.


Aleksandar Marelja averages 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks for Dinamo Bucharest.


Serbian power forward has played in Belgium, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland and Qatar.


National championships: Bamberg Baskets are 1-1 in the BBL.


Anton Gavel and his men were defeated by Braunschweig, 77-96, on September 22.


The Bavarians rebounded with a 66-58 away win at Frankfurt on September 29.


Bamberg Baskets advanced to the 1/8 finals of the German Cup after a 78-57 win at Karlsruhe on September 14.


Dinamo Bucharest are 1-1 at the Liga Nationala.


Dragan Nikolič and his men won the home opener against Targu Mureš on September 21, posting a 87-84 win.


Dinamo lost at Craiova six days later, 70-71.

Legia Warszawa vs Fyllingen Lions


Series history: Legia Warszawa will face Fyllingen Lions for the first time.


Key matchup: Legia Warszawa power forward Ojārs Siliņš is the 2023 ENBL champion.


Thirty one year old Latvian has played in Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan and Poland.


Joel Kanyinda averages 14.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in the BLNO.


Congolese power forward has posted two double-doubles against Kongsberg and Nidaros Jets.


National championships: PLK first round will be played on October 3-6.


Ivica Skelin and his men are hosting MKS Dabrowa Gornicza on October 4.


Fyllingen Lions are 3-0 in the BLNO.


Calix N`Diaye and his men opened their season on September 20 with a 80-63 win at Kongsberg.
