King and Berg score 42 points, Bakken Bears win at Bergen




Bakken Bears renewed their playoff push with a 87-70 road win over Fyllingen Lions on Wednesday, January 8, at the Haukelandshallen in western Norway.


Players of the game

In the Battle of the two Kingdoms there was a royal hero.


Urald King had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bakken Bears.


Southeastern Oklahoma State University forward registered a game high three blocks.


Sylvester Berg led all scorers with 22 points on 9/15 shooting from the field.


Aarhus captain added six rebounds and six assists.


Darko Jukič checked out with 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists.


Florida Southern College star EJ Dambreville had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.


Dashawn Davis served as a usual newsmaker for Fyllingen Lions.


Mississippi State University graduate scored 20 points.


Davis contributed with six rebounds and six assists as well.


Center Joel Kanyinda had nine points and a game high 11 rebounds.

Key stats

Fyllingen Lions proved once again that they are dangerous opponents.


The hosts took a small lead three times in the first half and stayed at the striking distance until the fourth quarter.


Two runs by the Bakken Bears in the second half sealed the game.


The visitors scored more points in the paint, 46-26, and turned the ball over just eight times.


Great team discipline and experience was decisive.


Bakken Bears shot 60 percent inside the three point line and were more accurate from the three point line, 9/30 vs 4/18.

Bakken Bears improved to 4-3, while Fyllingen Lions dropped to 0-6.


Anders Sommer and his men traveled to Norway via Aalborg airport.


The travel took longer than expected due to delays.
