Dontay Caruthers – Defensive Player of the Year

Dontay Caruthers has been recognized as the first ever Defensive Player of the Year in a vote by coaches, general managers and league executives.


Caruthers helped Inter Bratislava to post a 8-0 record in Group B and secure the first place in overall classification.


Inter Bratislava is the second team in ENBL history which completed the regular season undefeated – Anwil Wloclawek did it in 2022.


Dontay Caruthers has averaged 20.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.7 steals in seven games for an efficiency rating of 24.0.


He shot 58.2 percent (46/79) from the two point line and 38.1 percent (8/21) from the three point line as well as 75.0 percent (30/40) from the free throw line.


Caruthers set a new ENBL scoring record – he had 41 points on 15/24 shooting from the field and 8/9 from the charity stripe in a 94-79 home win against Keila Coolbet on January 15, 2025.


The University of Buffalo guard from Rochester, New York State, led the ENBL in assists per game.


Caruthers had 18 points, 10 assists and three steals in a 103-101 road win at Basket Brno on October 15, 2024.

Zac Cuthbertson – Coastal Carolina forward – from King Szczecin won the 2023 MVP award.


Rickey McGill – Iona College guard – from Newcastle Eagles won the 2024 MVP award.
