D.J. Cooper guides Ironi Ness Ziona to second victory

D.J. Cooper registered a season high 13 assists as Ironi Ness Ziona stood off comeback attempts by Basket Brno to post a 94-80 win on Tuesday, December 27, at the STAREZ Arena Vodova in Brno, Czechia.

D.J. Cooper posted a season high 13 assists to tie an ENBL record.


The assist record was set by Šiauliai player Donatas Sabeckis on March 30, 2022, at Liepāja.


D.J. Cooper – a Chicago born Ohio star – had 11 assists in his previous ENBL game at Sopot.


He averages 11,3 assists per game.


Tyler Bey co-led his team with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting inside the three point line and 5-of-7 from the charity stripe.


A former Colorado power forward grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists and forced a game tied seven fouls.

A former Michigan and Detroit Mercy player added one assist, one steal and one block.


Oleksandr Mishula had 15 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the free throw line.

Ironi Ness Ziona jumped in front for a 12 point lead 37-25 early in the second quarter.


Brno replied with a 2-15 run for its single lead in the game 39-40.


Israeli team outscored the opponents 37-17 during the next eleven minutes 76-57.


C.J. Williams hit the game winning three pointer with 10:44 to go.


Ironi Ness Ziona scored just 13 points in the fourth quarter but still finished with 50% accuracy from the field.


A relatively poor shooting percentage – 38 per cent – was fatal for Basket Brno.
