Brown-Soares and Knight join the 30 points club, Brno outlast Valmiera




Basket Brno ended two winless streaks and defeated Valmiera Glass ViA, 90-74, on Tuesday, January 9, at the Starez Arena Vodova in southern Czechia.

Super Tuesday marked the first game in the L history, when two players scored 30 points in one game.


Terrell Brown-Soares led Basket Brno with 30 points on 8/17 shooting from the field and 2/3 from the charity stripe.


A former San Diego big man went 4/4 from the three points line!


Brown-Soares filled the stat sheet with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.


Greg Lee had 20 points on 8/18 shooting, including 4/6 effort from the deep.


A Penn State standout added seven boards.


Viktor Pulpan flirted with a triple-double.


Point guard had seven points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.


Sean Seneca Knight shined for Valmiera.


Illinois State guard led his team with 30 points on 7/17 shooting from the field and 13/15 from the free throw line.


Knight registered five rebounds and one steal.



Key stats

Four players scored in double figures in the first half alone.


Terrell Brown-Soares and Greg Lee combined 29 points for Basket Brno.


Sean Knight and Edmunds Elksnis answered with 21 points for Valmiera.


The Czech team dominated in the paint, 26-8.


Valmiera shooters excelled from the three point line, 4/8 vs 7/14.


The visitors cut the gap to six points, 55-49, but the home team replied soon.


Brown-Soares and Lee made three three-pointers and Brno extended its lead up to 15 points, 72-57.


Oskars Virsis men continued to fought hard but the home team prevailed.
