Basketball as a European lifestyle brand: welcome, Dziki Warszawa!

Dziki Warszawa is the seventh club from Poland which will play in the European North Basketball league.

Anwil Wloclawek won the first ENBL title in 2022.

BM Stal Ostrów claimed a maiden title in 2023, while Polski Cukier Start Lublin earned a bronze medal.

King Szczecin, Trefl Sopot and Zastal Zielona Gora also debuted in the second season.

Now it`s time to welcome a team from the Polish capital.

Dziki Warszawa was founded in 2017 and initially played in third division.

It took six years to make it to the Orlen PLK.

Big moment arrived on May 20, 2023, when Dziki defeated Walbrzych on the home floor, 66-62.

Coach Krzysztof Szablowski and his men won the best-of-five series, 3-0.

Alan Czujkowski, Mateusz Bartosz, Grzegorz Grochowski, Maksymilian Motel and Przemyslaw Kuzkow played in starting five.

Michal Aleksandrowicz, Rafal Komenda, Aleksander Griszczuk, Marcus Azor and Filip Munyama entered the floor from the bench.

Four months later, on September 23, Dziki opened their maiden PLK campaign with a 86-65 win against BM Stal Ostrów.

Mateusz Bartosz, Grzegorz Grochowski, Michal Aleksandrowicz and Alan Czujkowski all experienced baptism of fire.

Warsaw club employed a new starting five, featuring Dominic Green, Matt Coleman III, Nick McGlynn, Emmanuel Little and Mateusz Szlachetka.

Seven months later, on April 27, 2024, Dziki finished their debut campaign with a 16-14 record and tenth place in the standings.

Four teams had a 16-14 record but Start Lublin and Dziki Warszawa didn`t made the playoffs.

Nick McGlynn was the top scorer and rebounder for the newcomers.

He averaged 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Owners of Dziki want to create a European lifestyle and basketball brand.

Dziki Warszawa play their home games at the Hala Kolo with a capacity of 1280.

Actually, Warsaw clubs have the smallest venues in the PLK.

It will change in the future.
