Back-to-back road wins for coach Kapoulas and Bristol Flyers




Bristol Flyers continue to soar as 2024 nears to an end – a team coached by Andreas Kapoulas posted a 86-76 away win against Fyllingen Lions on Thursday, December 19, at the Haukelandshallen in Bergen, Norway.

With Christmas being less than a week away, there was a festive atmosphere at the Haukelandshallen.


Hosts delivered some eye catching performances but visitors prevailed in the end.


Kendall Lewis was a top scorer for Bristol Flyers.


He had 19 points on 6/12 shooting from the field and a 5/6 effort from the charity stripe.


Lewis scored last six points for the visitors.


Illinois State wing filled the stat sheet with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.


Jared Sherfield contributed with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists.


Owen McCormack had his biggest ENBL game yet and added 15 points from the bench.


The Lipscomb University graduate went 5/7 from the field and grabbed seven rebounds too.


Dashawn Davis led Fyllingen Lions with a game high 24 points.


Mississippi State star made 12 field goals on 23 attempts.


Nikolas Skouen followed with 20 points on impressive 6/11 shooting from the three point line.


A Bergen native played for Pepperdine University.


Joel Kanyinda had 16 points, eight rebounds and a game high four steals.

Key stats

Fyllingen Lions controlled most of the first half and led by as much as nine points, 30-39.


The hosts ran into the foul problems midway the second quarter and Bristol Flyers went on a 14-4 run to gain a 44-43 lead after a three by Jared Sherfield.


Teams exchanged lead a couple of times but Bristol Flyers were in charge most of the time.


The visitors held Dashawn Davis to eight points in the second half, while Kendall Lewis took over in offense.


Bristol Flyers improved their rebounding and scored more second chance points after the break.


The visitors turned the ball over twice as much, 22-11, but with improved rebounding and better shooting they sailed away.



Game notes

Bristol Flyers improved to 2-4, while Fyllingen Lions dropped to 0-5.


Andreas Kapoulas and his men registered their second win on the road.


Bristol won a double overtime classic at Basket Brno, 93-89, and recently advanced to the SLB Trophy final.


The visitors ended Bergen`s three game winning streak.


Fyllingen Lions have two more home games to play – and one on the road.
